Date of death

[edit]

The article currently states that Cyr died on May 19, 2012. It seems, however, that that's not the right date. I found via Internet search an obituary, published by Alberni Valley Times (an external link [1], which, however, gets old pretty soon, I assume), which starts: "CYR, Paul Andre Born October 31, 1963, passed away Saturday May 12, 2012. Paul was born and raised in Port Alberni, BC. At a very early age Paul found his life's ambition to play hockey. He enjoyed a very successful Junior hockey career and was chosen to represent Canada at the 1982 World Junior Hockey Championship where Canada won its first ever world Junior Championship." So, if Alberni Valley Times' information is correct, Cyr died a week earlier than Wikipedia currently states. ,,n (talk) 09:52, 22 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

As I assumed, the external link got old. Cyr's obituary isn't on that website anymore, and I didn't find a new reliable source around the web, which could be used as a reference. It is however quite clear that the current version of this article has a wrong date. An IP user actually wrote about the fact that Cyr had died May 12th 2012 to the page Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Biography over a week ago, May 16th [2]. Which in my opinion makes it quite clear that Cyr's date of death wasn't May 19th (nor May 18th, which is the date findagrave.com currently mentions). ,,n (talk) 13:39, 25 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
