changed text from "former minority leader" to "former minority whip." Newt Gingrich was never the minority leader, he was the minority whip.

I changed several gramatical errors in the original text. Also, I deleted language suggesting that the Republican Party has held the House since 1994. As of 1:00 am EST, all major news organizations are conceding the House to the Democratic Party. As this is a separate election, no reference to the 2006 race is necessary in the 1994 article.

Wisonsin results table

[edit]

Is it just me, or does the table under "voting members" about Wisconsin results not really make sense? The "status" column seems superfluous, and I'm not sure that we should have Wisconsin results in there if we don't have the results for the other 420+ members of the house. I'm going to remove it for now. Cbsteven 17:46, 14 February 2007 (UTC) cbsteven[reply]

Arithmetic error in Overall Results

[edit]

The section headed "Overall Results" contained arithmetic errors. I corrected the arithmetic errors in the "number of seats" percentages (which came from truncating decimals instead of rounding). However, in the popular vote column, 44.0%+0.9%+49.9% does not equal 100% no matter how times I check it. I deleted the "total 100%" from the column, but the figures should be corrected.
