A note on the first entry of Achille Devéria: I decided to add this because I'd done some research on him before, and noticed there wasn't an entry of him here. The information came from various sources, originally meant as a compilation of info for my family tree. I think some of it was translated from French. Anyway, I hope I'll be able to find all sources soon, also so I can figure out who indeed "David" is. Finally, my name's Alexis Deveria, so that's what the "A" in my username is about, not Achille. P.S. I'm new here, so please let me know if I'm doing anything wrong... --ADeveria 20:40, 4 Feb 2005 (UTC)

You've established notability (minor, but sufficient), and you're actively working on citing your sources, which is excellent. But while you're clearly well intentioned and not trying to hide anything, at least two paragraphs from your article are copied from your first source [1]. Unless you're the copyright holder this is bad, and needs to be fixed. See Wikipedia:Copyrights. "Rewriting it in your own words" is common, but poor advice. An original article should draw raw data from multiple sources (information can't be copyrighted), recompiled and summarized using your own wording. 68.81.231.127 23:15, 6 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Thank you for your input; I appreciate you helping me out. I couldn't find anything on the Wake Forest University site that mentioned anything about copyright, so I wasn't sure if what I did would be allowed or not. Either way, I've again made several changes, which hopefully is a step in the right direction. (I'm 198.86.16.5, forgot to log in before editing) --ADeveria 00:31, 8 Feb 2005 (UTC)

That's a common mistake; copyright can be confusing. It's best to assume to everything everyone writes is protected by copyright. With a few exceptions, that's pretty much true... books, websites, email... your paragraph right there... are all protected by default. Copyright notices are not required. Your submissions have to be original, or from one of the small subset of sources that are in the public domain or under a compatible license (and even then, the source needs to be cited). Keep working on the rewrite :) 68.81.231.127 04:17, 8 Feb 2005 (UTC)
