please do not delete; i saved the page too soon, with only one section. i have since added the other sections. Ourika is an important text.

Hi, I'm only re-adding the votes for deletion notice because that's part of the procedure. By all means feel free to go there and explain why it should be kept (and I agree that it should be kept). --iMb~Meow 21:55, 18 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The article was kept. The debate is at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ourika. Sjakkalle 08:18, 26 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Update suggestions

[edit]

One update this article could use is a "cultural impact" or "reception" section. There was quite the "Ourika mania" in France as a result of this story, yet none of that cultural impact currently is visible on this page. Understanding just how important the impact of Ourika was makes the story's themes and history more important as well, especially when looking at colonialism and colonial legacies. The article "‘Ourika mania’: interrogating race, class, space, and place in early nineteenth-century France" by Robin Mitchell would be a good source to use when explaining the cultural impact and reception of Ourika.

this page has a lot of issues

[edit]

I'm not a Wikipedia editor, but I've studied this book, and this page is very disorganized. In particular, the key themes section contains biased language and conjecture about the author. 12.148.172.250 (talk) 00:30, 16 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
