For an actual factual account of battles during the Thirty Years War and Swedish Gustav Adolf and Danish Arend Dickmann and imperial troops sent to aid Polish-Lithuanian King Sigismund III read [1]

name

[edit]

"Battle of Oliwa" (with words "wikipedia" and "LLC" removed to get rid of mirrors, and with the word "Sweden" added to screen out non-english titles": 109 hits

"Battle of Oliva" (ditto): 57 hits.

So "Oliwa" appears to be twice as popular in English sources than "Oliva", and "Oliwa" was the original title of this article. Hence I'm moving it back.VolunteerMarek 19:24, 18 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Reference

[edit]

The work listed in References is "Anderson, R. C. Naval Wars in the Levant 1559-1853" - how relevant is this really to the subject matter? Last I checked the Levant was a few miles away from the Baltic Sea.VolunteerMarek 19:32, 18 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ships' names

[edit]

Why do all the "Polish" ships have German names? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.221.30.147 (talk) 18:00, 29 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
