[edit]
An image used in this article, File:'The Light Inside', Site-specific installation of Neon light, gypsum board, plaster, and glass by James Turrell, 1999, Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.JPG, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Copyright violations
What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request

To take part in any discussion, or to review a more detailed deletion rationale please visit the relevant image page (File:'The Light Inside', Site-specific installation of Neon light, gypsum board, plaster, and glass by James Turrell, 1999, Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.JPG)

Graduate Institution is incorrect

[edit]

Article states that "Turrell received an MA degree in art from Claremont Graduate School, University of California, Irvine in 1966". As the separate Wikilinks on "Claremont Graduate School" and "University of California, Irvine" demonstrate, the Claremont Graduate School, which along with Pomona College is one of the Claremont Colleges, is a private institution located in Claremont, CA. It is located some 40 miles from the University of California branch in Irvine, CA. The current text of the article suggests that these are the same institution.

There is a reference, but it is to an unavailable gallery catalog, so that the source of this problem, and its best resolution, are unclear. This needs attention from someone who is more familiar with Turrell's educational history.

No picture of James Turrell?

[edit]

Hi, I wanted to ask why the article is using a picture of an exhibit by James Turrell instead of using a picture of Turrell himself. I haven't seen anything like this on any other articles about people, is this normal? 169.234.216.238 (talk) 04:13, 26 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
