Yasufumi Tanahashi (棚橋 泰文, Tanahashi Yasufumi, born February 11, 1963) is a Japanese politician who served as the Chairman of the National Public Safety Commission from July 2021 to October of that same year.
Political career
[edit]He also served as Minister of State in Charge of Science and Technology Policy in Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi's cabinet. Tanahashi is also a member of the House of Representatives for Gifu's 2nd district since 1996.
Education
[edit]He graduated from the University of Tokyo with a B.A. in private law in March 1987.
