Should this be redirected to José Antonio Primo de Rivera?

Can somebody confirm that "El Ausente" was used? I have always found "¡Presente!" instead.

The "Presente" ritual cry was official policy since 1938 (IIRC). The term "El Ausente" was used, either
  • In presumed poetical references to Jose Antonio
  • As a kind of codeword used by "camisas viejas" (Falangists before the 18 July) and others who felt the regime had betrayed/not implemented the joseantonian ideals
