Missing B-sides

[edit]

Is there any need for the extensive 'missing b-sides' part of the article? What purpose does it fill?

The Masterplan is a B-Sides album for the first three albums in Oasis's discography. Some people may want to know what other B-sides Oasis had that weren't on the album. I elect that we should put it back.
So what are we going to do for the 'Stop The Clocks' page - cram it with the 100+ songs left off it? I think it's totally pointless, to be honest - anyone who has a slight interest in the other Oasis songs can either look at the Oasis discography page, or go through the singles. As it is, I think filling the page with all of the unincluded b-sides just makes the article look bulky and untidy. --Mr. Monobrow 22:29, 23 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
On the contrary, B-sides are different than "best of" records, and there are only a select few amount of B-sides that Oasis have that some want to find. Also, finding discography pages that simply have the B-Sides missing are hard to find. Not to mention, Oasis put a large amount of effort into their B-Sides, so I'm sure many fans would like to try to find a website that lists the ones that are missing on the B-Side album. Not to mention, this is an encyclopedia and Missing B-sides is a good topic. --Flowerkiller1692 22:30 23 September 2006 (UTC)
The point still stands though, that those "missing" b-sides have no relevance whatsoever to 'The Masterplan' as an album. They might not be included on a b-sides compilation, but you could equally say that they were not included for the albums the singles were off, as the majority of the b-sides were recorded during the main album sessions. This is still a "best-of" album, just that it's limited to b-sides. I think that a simple link on 'The Masterplan' page to the Oasis discography page, which includes a listing to every single Oasis song released, and the single/album it was released on, would be more appropriate. --Mr. Monobrow 11:26, 24 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
As already stated, these "missing" B-sides have no relevance whatsoever to The Masterplan. There are many things that fans would like to find somewhere, but Wikipedia articles are not the place for loosely-related topics. This list of B-sides is unrelated trivia when it comes to The Masterplan. Squalla 21:15, 24 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Given how Oasis are quite renowned for their b-sides, perhaps an article of some sort for the topic should be created. Perhaps a table listing all the b-sides and which singles (and which versions of those singles) they're available on. Could perhaps single out the most critically acclaimed ones too(The Elfoid (talk) 01:32, 18 April 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:MasterplanOasisalbumcover.jpg

[edit]

Image:MasterplanOasisalbumcover.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

I am the Walrus

[edit]

Curious why the version of I am the Walrus on this LP is almost two minutes shorter than the original B-side...? It's not really a good compilation if you still have to buy the original single to get the full song. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.242.89.7 (talk) 16:44, 24 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
