Do people think it would be fair to put him in the statisticians category? Although he didn't discover any statistical techniques, he basically invented medical statistics. --Viki 08:40, 10 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Hygology or Hygiology?

[edit]

Which is Farr's spelling? Article uses both. Oxford English Dictionary doesn't include "Hygology",and only has an 1855 quote for "Hygiology" (defined as " The science of health; hygiene.") - so if you have an earlier printed source for it please notify OED. Proposed Merge-in of British Annals of Medicine, Pharmacy, Vital Statistics, and General Science

[edit]

There's a stub at British Annals of Medicine, Pharmacy, Vital Statistics, and General Science which an editor proposes to merge into this article. I oppose the merger. PamD (talk) 13:15, 16 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • I have proposed merging that stub here. It concerns a journal that was published for a very brief period only and seems to miss WP:N (or even the WP:Notability (academic journals) essay). Rather than deleting that one-line stub, it seems better to me to mention it here and redirect that stub to this page. I would be interested to learn PamD's reasons for opposing this merge. --Crusio (talk) 14:28, 16 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
