Your comment on De Moivre Talk Page

On the De Moivre Talk page you say:

By De Moivre's formula:

$(-1)^{1/2}=\left(\cos \pi +i\sin \pi \right)^{1/2}=\cos {\frac {\pi }{2}}+i\sin {\frac {\pi }{2}}=i\,$

but also

$(-1)^{1/2}=\left(\cos 3\pi +i\sin 3\pi \right)^{1/2}=\cos {\frac {3\pi }{2}}+i\sin {\frac {3\pi }{2}}=-i\,$

so you get two different answers which is not good.

Why do you think it is not good that there are two square roots. Is it also 'not good' that, for example, 3 has two square roots? Can you please explain why it's not good?37.228.204.111 (talk) 18:01, 5 February 2024 (UTC)

I wiped that page and reinstated the redirect from Hardy-Littlewood constant to what was there before. This was somebody's abandoned scratch work. They can request getting it back if need be. Oleg Alexandrov (talk) 15:58, 22 August 2024 (UTC)
