Zygmunt Lozinski

[edit]

I'm Zygmunt Lozinski, and I work on next generation telecommunications networks for IBM's Telecommunications Industry.

From 1999 to 2007 I was also a member of the Board of Directors of the Parlay Group, which was a consortium of around 70 companies in the telecoms and IT industries. The Parlay Group defined and publishes open APIs for telecoms. These were co-published by Parlay, ETSI and 3GPP and are freely available from the websites. Parlay merged with the OMA, and the Parlay-X specifications are now the base of the GSMA's One API.

Background

[edit]

My background is in telecoms and computing. I have designed and implemented ISDN, SS7 and AIN systems in Europe and North America. I have been involved in the Parlay and JAIN initiatives.

Current Interests

[edit]
  • Next generation networks - both fixed (or wireline) and mobile (or wireless).
  • The use of computing technology in telecommunications networks
  • Disruptive technology especially disruptive business platforms
  • Cloud computing and C-RAN
  • Internet architecture and metrics
  • Mobile Internet optimization
  • Service Creation for next generation networks.
  • Parlay, Parlay/OSA, Parlay-X and Parlay Web Services
  • Application servers in the network
  • NeXTSTEP and OS X  :-)

I'm on a Mission

[edit]

I've recently helped to develop a course on next generation telecoms for IBM's architect community. Afterwards, the attendees asked for short summaries of key telecom technologies, so I gave them some pointers to some excellent articles on Wikipedia. Now it seems only fair to create the entries on Wikipedia I couldn't find, and update some others!
