A bit POV

[edit]

I dunno, the first line, though hard to argue with, seems a little too strong ("POV" if you will) to be kept the way it is.ProfessorFokker 09:14, 2 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I edited it a little bit, I think it's slightly more NPOV now. "Disgraced" has a very negative connotation but I think it's accurate in this case. -Big Smooth 18:09, 28 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I edited a bit here and there just clear up the Steroid Scandal section and created the Personal Life. Guess some of the personal life will include some time spent behind bars now.--Daydreamer302000 18:18, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"He was stripped of his records.."

[edit]

How about mentioning the records on the previous sentence? I would suggest "... a former American athlete and 100 m world record holder". Agreed? Thanks 77.125.18.122 (talk) 05:57, 22 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"He has four children, including one son, ..."

[edit]

Ahem.. Why mention only the boy? Either list all the children or none at all. Thanks. 77.125.18.122 (talk) 06:00, 22 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Actually the son is specifically mentioned due to his importance of being conceived by Marion Jones. No disrespect to the mother(s) of the other three, but they are not as famous as Jones herself. For that reason, Tim junior is singled out. A Prodigy ~In Pursuit of Perfection~ 20:00, 27 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Questions

[edit]

I'm wary of editing since I'm not that knowledgeable about the American justice system. Firstly, shouldn't the lead be updated? It merely says that Montgomery has been "charged", whereas he's now been found guilty and sentenced to jail time. Secondly, what does "He was sentenced until May 16, 2008 to 46 months in prison" mean? It doesn't make sense to me. Loganberry (Talk) 15:52, 10 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm inclined to agree and have now updated the lead to reflect this. As for your second point, I think that was just a poor choice of words, since May 16th was the day he was sentenced and I've now rectified this.--Simon KHFC (talk) 17:02, 10 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
